A Nyeri bar owner has drawn a lot of interest after he allegedly hired a witch doctor. It is believed the witch doctor gave him a rooster cock to flush out criminals, who broke into his property.
His bar which is located in Mathira is believed to have been broken into three times. Since then he has since issued stern warnings to the thieves to return his property or face the repercussions.
Since Saturaday the rooster is said to be “patrolling” the bar in a clockwise manner and residents believe the thieves will soon be known.
According to reports, there has been a rise in reported robberies and homicides in the area.
Residents shared how they have experienced a lot of attacks from hooligans that have been constantly threatening them and blamed security in the area for not taking action.
Many residents in the area are against the idea of witch craft claiming it is unbiblical.
“We do not support this …but he is protecting his property,” said Ms Alice Waceke, another resident as reported by the Daily Nation.
Residents expect that the thieves will be revealed by Sunday where they are expected to surrender.
The bar proprietor declined to remark on the issue when asked yet spoke to locals, who had gathered outside assuring the criminals would surrender.
“Once this cockerel dies, a lot of people will lose their lives. Let them be warned,” he said.
