Religious leaders in Nyeri have dismissed NCCK’s view of having an all-inclusive government that accommodates the opposition in governance as a way of unifying the country having proposed creation of a prime minister's position.
The Nyeri Pentecostal churches movement has blamed NCCK for making proposals and speaking on their behalf without having involved all religious groups.
Bishop John Nderitu on Wednesday morning during a presser in Nyeri said the churches council ought to have engaged them as they had been open for consultation before issuing the suggestions yesterday.
Bishop Wachira Karani, leading the clergy said they expect peace and progress other than attempts to implement what had not worked in previous regimes including that of retired president Kibaki.
“When such an issue comes up, you don’t rush to issue statements concerning everybody without consultations. Trying to bring in side things will only create chaos. This is not the first loser, there are others coming after him and we should not set precedence that will trouble us I future,” said Bishop Wachira.
The leaders said there are people who could not get contented as long as they were not in power and it would be wrong to create positions that seek to please them.
