Nyeri elderly women who entertained the President during Madaraka celebrations spent Thursday night in the cold demanding payment.
They accused Nyeri Governor Samuel Wamathai of delaying their payments after their performance in Kabiruini ground.
Reports say the women from the 25 sub-counties were promised Sh.1000per day for six days.
"There are dancers who camped at the showground the whole night after county officials gave them Sh500 for dancing for the President," a resident told The Star.
Central regional coordinator Anne Ng'etich has however asked for their patience saying that the government will fulfill it's promise.
"I can give you my number in case you have any more questions but for now you need to go back home and get some rest," she said.
