President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday launched construction works for the Market Hub in Chaka Township, Nyeri County.
Kenyatta said the ultramodern market hub would benefit the people by creating employment opportunities.
"The ultramodern market hub has multitude of amenities among them a wholesale market, a retail market, value addition facilities such as cooling plants for ease of dairy trade and banking and community halls,'' he said.
Uhuru stated that such markets will be build across the country for the benefit of citizens.
"We will use this market as a model for other markets that we will build in every part of the country,'' added the president.
He was speaking during when he launched the Hub, Monday.
He further urged locals to support Jubilee government ahead of the 2017 polls.
