The newly sworn in Nyeri Governor, Mutahi Kahiga during Late Governor Wahome Gakuru's Requiem at Dedan Kimathi University in Nyeri revealed that the deceased had revealed to him earlier that his official car (the car that killed him) was the one that would cost him life.Kahiga said he was surprised when he realized that the Governor had traveled outside the county with his official car despite his remarks on the car.“I keep asking everybody who bothers to listen, how did Wahome Gakuru find himself in the Mercedez Benz outside Nyeri… it was faulty and he had told me three or four times ‘ my brother hii gari ndio itaniua’ (this is the car that will kill me),” said Governor Kahiga. “Many times he used his own personal vehicles because he felt they were better and safer.” Kahiga narrated according to citizentv.co.keKahiga also said that Nyeri county still doesn't have Governor's car at the moment following the accident. He, however, said he uses one donated by the Department of Finance.“As we are speaking, there is no governor’s car. The car I’m using I got it from the Department of Finance,” he added.Wahome Gakuru died on Tuesday 7 in a grisly road accident which occurred along Thika-Sagana highway in Murang'a county when his car rammed into a guardrail.
