This huge compensation according kenyans.co.ke, arises from the government's decision to acquire land from the Governor to pave way for the construction of the proposed Nairobi’s southern by-pass.

The details were made public by the National Lands Commission (NLC) through a Kenya Gazette Notice published on Friday last week.

Gachagua's compensation for the one-and-half-acre plot with 80 apartments, is said to be one of the highest compensation schemes by the government to an individual.
