Kiambu Women Representative Ann Nyokabi has warned politicians both in government and opposition against perpetuating politics of hatred.
Nyokabi said that politics of hatred will plug the country into chaos.
The Kiambu women leader noted that as much as politicians have different opinions and divergent views they should consider and put the interests of Kenyans first.
Nyokabi warned that the country will experience chaos if politicians continue perpetuating hate speech.
“It is sad that instead of preaching unity some politicians are perpetuating hate,” she said at Moi Primary School in Thika where she awarded best-performing students on Friday.
Nyokabi asked government agencies mandated to crack the whip on hate mongers to do their job well.
“The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and other state agencies must tame hate mongers so that we can have a peaceful country even as we head to the 2017 elections,” he said.
Nyokabi at the same time called on Kenyans to keep off leaders who encourage tribalism and hatred. She urged Kenyans to work with leaders who encourage peaceful co-existence.
