From August, Kisumu County gubernatorial aspirant, Prof Anyang' Nyong'o says his government will be determined to weed out corruption that is preventing residents from getting quality services.

He said they will not relent on the war against impunity.

Nyong'o who seeks to unseat incumbent Jack Ranguma, noted Kisumu Central required service delivery, which will only happen when the county constitutes a functional City Management Board.

According to him, this would create opportunities and ensure city residents get better services.

''Residents insist on new ideas and new leadership, a new government that will win back their trust and aspirations and restore investor confidence. They need a governor who will fix the County's broken healthcare system, poor infrastructures, indiscriminate disposal of waste, unemployment,'' said the former Health Cabinet Minister.

He added: "They want a government that will work for them not against them. We must revive the collapsed Industries to create opportunities for our people and grow our economy.''

Nyong'o expressed optimism that he would win the ODM party ticket against his rival, Ranguma, to enable him be on the ballot box in August 8, pols.  During his meet-the-people tour of Kisumu Central Sub-county, Nyong'o made stopovers at Railways, Jua Kali, KICOMI junction, Obunga, Akado grounds, Arina and Kibuye.
