[Photo|Anyang' Nyong'o]Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang' Nyong'o, has declared state of mourning in the county, after at least three people were reportedly killed, Thursday.As the country was holding a fresh presidential election, rowdy youth in Kisumu engaged the police in running battles, forcing the police to open fire.Unconfirmed reports indicate that four succumbed to the bullet injuries, leaving several others seriously injured. They were admitted at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Hospital.Addressing the press in the county, Nyong'o declared a week long state of mourning, saying the county was mourning its residents who succumbed to the shooting.Citing an incident where IEBC postponed election in the county until Saturday October 28, Nyong'o warned Chairman Wafula Chebukati, to resurrect the lost lives, for the election to go on.Flanked by Woman Representative, Rosa Buyu, he said a total of 29 victims were admitted at Jaramogi Hospital, 26 had gunshot wounds.Buyu condemned the incident, saying there will be no election on Saturday, just like how the Opposition's NASA coalition said there would no repeat election on October.
