Kisumu Senator Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o has faulted the ruling Jubilee party for using the police to gain political mileage.

He was speaking during an Orange Democratic Party (ODM) Strategy and Bonding meeting convened on Friday evening at Milimani Royal City Hotel in Kisumu.

The meeting was attended by political aspirants eying elective seats in Kisumu County on ODM tickets.

Nyong’o took issue with the ruling party saying that it had deployed administration police and antiriot police who interfere with National Super Alliance (Nasa) campaigns.

He singled-out an event where police teargassed his motorcade last week in Kondele, Kisumu town.

He alluded that the police have instructions from the Jubilee Party to depress Nasa campaigns alleging that the police only stood and watched as hooligans disrupted his meeting.

Nyong’o purported that the hooligans were Jubilee moles sent to intimidate Nasa.

The Senator said the action was unconstitutional and also unlawful, and warned the party from attempting to suppress Nasa’s efforts of wooing voters.

“The government is playing with the minds and lives of Kenyan’s,” he said.
