Kisumu Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o  had a day to forget on Monday after he was forced to cheat death in a torn tent to evade angry ODM youths believed to be supporters of Migori Governor Okoth Obado.

A battled had ensued between supporters of Mr. Obado and those accompanying Suna East MP Junet Mohammed to launch an ODM office in which the Governor cried foul of being left out of the programe.

“I am the Governor and was completely left out of the programme,” said Obado, accusing the organizers for inviting his Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho without his knowledge.

And despite managing to secure Posta grounds for a grand rally, Obado’s supporters successfully invaded the venue leading to unprecedented chaos that saw scores injured.

Having endorsed former Rongo MP Ochilo Ayacko to dethrone Obado, Nyong’o, a renowned political science professor and a revolutionist, literally hid in the tent as angry ODM youths allied to Obado pursued him.

However, together with his Siaya counterpart James Orengo, they were rescued by Mohammed supporter’s as they scampered for safety.

“He is a Jubilee mole and should only attend meetings organized by his masters,” said Mohammed in his Facebook wall.

Also, a bodyguard attached to Mr. Joho was shot on the leg in what the outspoken governor termed as a ‘failed assassination’ attempt.

Nyong’o is on the pole position to dethrone Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma in a battle that would be determined during ODM primaries.
