The recent famous 'golden handshake' between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga is one development that Kenyans, perhaps, should embrace.
The handshake, that has received criticism and praise in equal measure across the political divide is already bearing fruit in different regions.
In Kisumu, Members of the County Assembly from Kiambu visited the region, and held development talks with Governor Anyang' Nyong'o.
The MCAs who are members of the Kiambu County Assembly Agriculture Committee said Kisumu has great potential in agriculture' adding that they took time to visit the lakeside county to know agricultural plans the devolved unit intends to implement in the next five years.
The meeting also attended by the Kisumu County Assembly Speaker Onyang'o Oloo, and County Assembly Majority Leader Ken Onyango, explored investments in the fishing industry taking into account the fact that Kisumu is among counties that produce large fish harvests every year.
Had Uhuru and Raila not met and agreed to work closely for the sake of bringing unity in a country that entered 2018 sharply divided on political grounds, perhaps the visit by the MCAs may not have occurred.
The MCAs found time to promote Kisumu's tourism industry as they visited the famous Kiboko Bay near Lake Victoria.
Nyong'o told the MCAs to "visit Kisumu regularly and exchange ideas on how to harness Kenya's potential for the benefit of its people"
