Kisumu County Governor Prof Anyang Nyong'o on Thursday used the Devolution Dialogue forum to outline his plans for the county and his formula of seeing it achieved during his term in office.

Nyong'o who was accompanied by his Deputy Dr Ochieng Owili and several other county officials, thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for finally recognizing the need to implement the universal healthcare which he said its implementation was long overdue since he first proposed the idea during his tenure as the Cabinet Minister for Health.

The governor said his government plans to revamp the maritime transport which was once the regions pride and encouraged the young people to enroll for coxswain courses in order to serve the maritime industry once it commences its operations. 

On matters of revenue, Nyong'o emphasized on the need to generate electronic system of revenue collection in order to avoid losing the money to the pockets of few individuals.

On his part, Owili emphasised need to upgrade the dairy industry citing the recent ground breaking opening of a 10,000litres milk cooling plant in Muhoroni.

The forum themed "Sustainable, productive, effective and efficient government for result delivery" sets the pace for the 5th Devolution conference to be held in Kakamega from March 23rd-27th.
