With the war on the runaway corruption in the country gaining momentum, President Uhuru Kenyatta has set his foot on the gas ready to face it head on. However, Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong'o is 'not' convinced and feels that a lot more needs to be done.

Speaking during an interview at NTV on Monday, Prof. Nyong'o said that the war on corruption cannot be won if the government continues to give lip service.

"Lip service in fighting corruption demoralizes Kenyans. Let the (arrests and trials) NYS saga not be an isolated event. Let it be the mode," said the Kisumu Governor.

Prof. Nyong'o's statement comes at a time when the alleged perpetrators of the latest scandal, where billions of shillings are said to have been lost are remanded in various jails pending the determination of the cases against them.

Last week,  suspended Youth Affairs and Public Service Principal  Secretary Lilian Omollo who has found herself at the center of the scandal, was taken to Lang'ata Women Prison,  two weeks after she had been rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital for medication.
