According to Nyong'o, the country has a vast diversity in ethnic groups and abolishing the parliamentary system will lead to feelings of marginalization.

Nyong'o believes that the parliamentary system enables all Kenyans have a representation in the country's top leadership.

"Abolishing the parliamentary system in the country can be the worst mistake ever. The country is rich with a vast diversities in ethnic groups and each needs to be represented at the top leadership. This will help avert feelings of marginalization," said Nyong'o.

The incumbent governor further criticized the former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma for snubbing his swearing in ceremony.

He pointed out that it is important for a smooth transition of power in the county governments in the future to allow for easy dissemination of services to the people.

"I still find it hard to understand why Jack Ranguma failed to avail himself during my swearing in ceremony. He was supposed to be there for him to hand over the tools of power. In the future this should not be the case," added Nyong'o.

Nyong'o made the remarks on Monday during an interview on NTV's Am Live show where he called on Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi to ensure his Assumption of the Office of Governor Bill is passed once the Senate reconvenes.
