[Photo|Eddy Ilah]Kisumu County governor Prof Anyang Nyong'o held a meeting with the Executive Director of UN Environment Erik Solheim at the UN offices in Gigiri Nairobi.They reviewed ways in which Lake Victoria can be protected from pollution and external invasion that continues to affect its natural state.The meeting was a follow up to the one held in Kisumu in the recent weeks concerning the same agenda that will bring to an end the continuous depletion of fish species in the lake.Nyong'o is looking for ways to partner with the UN Environment to make Kisumu a green city aiming to be among the world's most beautiful cities, with its landmarks and parks the envy of the world.Governor Nyong'o was accompanied by his advisor on Investment and Resource Mobilization Victor Nyagaya while Solheim was accompanied by Dr Cyrille- Lazare Siewe the Country Co-ordinator of UN Environment, Monday.
