(Photo/nation.co.ke)Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong'o has called on both NASA and Jubilee outfits to work together and solve the ongoing IEBC stalemate in relations to the forthcoming presidential elections.
According to Nyong'o, it is inappropriate for both Jubilee and NASA to continue blaming each other whereas the Supreme Court found the electoral commission of being culpable to election malpractices.
Nyong'o believes the same commission accused of conducting flawed elections cannot be entrusted with another election in the country.
"Both NASA and Jubilee should come together and solve the ongoing IEBC stalemate. We cannot have an electoral body accused of election malpractices conduct another election in the country," said Nyong'o
The governor suggests that the country should adopt the expertise of the UN to conduct the presidential elections. In his view, the UN has conducted successful elections in for Ghana and Namibia and Kenya should go the same way.
"We can incorporate the UN's expertise in the forthcoming elections. The commission has held successful elections in countries like Ghana and Namibia and we should go the same way," added Nyong'o.
Nyong'o made the remarks on Monday during an interview on NTV where he reiterated that the country in a crisis that if not looked into will lead to the 2007/08 post poll condition.Photo caption:
