The government has asked Kisumu Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o to retract his remarks regarding the alleged disappearance of , Kenya Defence Forces Colonel Joseph Owuoth.

Governmnet spokesperson Eric Kiraithe has said that the Senator should apologize to the country, KDF and Owuoth’s family.

“I am still trying got figure out the intentions of Senator Anyang’ Nyongo’s live press briefing to the effect that the Kenya Defence Forces Spokesperson, Colonel Joseph Owuoth had disappeared. Besides the obvious irresponsibility one wonders whether Nyong’o thought of the colonel’s family, friends and his colleagues in the Armed Forces,” he stated.

“As we reiterate that national institutions like our Defence Forces must be treated with the sanctity they deserve, we certainly expect this gubernatorial aspirant for Kisumu to take the earliest opportunity to apologise to Kenyans and Colonel Owuoth’s family for the anxiety and damage caused by his brazenly false allegation.”

Nyong’o had Tuesday alleged that the Military Spokesperson was missing only.
