Kisumu County Senator Anyang' Nyong'o has said he is happy with the manifesto launched by Jubilee party on Monday at Kasarani Stadium.
In a TV interview, the senator said it was 'good' for the ruling party to come up with a much-publicized launch event and that it was a good manifesto for him and the opposition camp NASA.
"I am very happy with the Jubilee manifesto. We will easily demolish it once we launch the one for NASA," said Nyong'o.
According to him, most sections of the manifesto were a copy paste of what he had taken part in drafting for the Narc Kenya party and had one on one lifting of phrases and he found it to have lacked clarity as he literally corrected grammar on the document.
The Senator dismissed the plans by the Jubilee administration to continue to directly handle the health sectors' maternity 'Linda Mama' scheme that offers free child delivery services in public hospitals saying it is against the spirit of devolution.
"Jubilee should know that health is a devolved function. They should leave this for county governments," he added.
Nyong'o claimed that counties such us Kakamega who had started a similar program under Governor Oparanya had performed distinctly well urging the government to concentrate on policy formulation and not to claim to be supporting devolution yet they do not want to let Governors buy hospital equipment on their own.
