Kisumu gubernatorial hopeful Prof Anyang' Nyong'o has raised his voice, after the ruling Jubilee administration, accused the Opposition, of planning to scuttle the August 8 polls.

Nyong'o who is an ODM senator in Kisumu, criticised the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led government, saying Nasa has no such plans for the country.

He said, as the Constitution stipulates, Nasa wants elections be conducted on the set date, but in a free and fair manner.

According to Nyong'o, Jubilee Party is the one afraid of being defeated by Nasa, hence spreading false rumours about Nasa plotting to have a coalition government.

"Postponement of elections and formation of a coalition government have been calls from the jubilee government. Nasa is not interested in either," Nyong'o said, Monday.

"We are calling for a credible election. Kenya has a history of dissolving parliament 21 days to general elections and ballot papers are printed within that time," he added.
