Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o has said that the 'magical' handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga has nothing to do with the 2022 General Election.
Governor Nyong'o stated that the handshake was a gesture of reconciling the Kenyan people who since the August 8 elections have been deeply divided.
He made the remarks on Thursday during the county dialogue forum convened at the Tom Mboya Labour College.
The County boss also insisted on the need of unity where he revealed that the 14 counties around Lake Victoria have created an economic bloc envisioned to steer development in the region.
He revealed that the regional economic bloc was set to open a bank which will help in the management and provision of funds for spurring development.
"On March 26 this year, all the 14 county bosses will meet in Kakamega where we will start discussions on how we will recognize our unexploited potentials. The British High Commissioner will be in attendance," stated Nyong'o.
