Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o says he will not take police brutality next time in his county as it had happened in the past days.

The governor who was elected on ODM ticket warned the police to walk away from deviance and unprofessionalism when dealing with demonstrators since they will be responsible for their actions.

Nyong’o said he was preparing to file a case to take police to court in short time to come and encouraged the residents not to be intimidated by the government.

On his part, the deputy governor, Ochieng' Owili condemned the law enforcement agencies of deaths, injuries and other sufferings they have caused on the residents of Kisumu and termed it unconstitutional.

The NASA governor and his deputy reiterated their commitment to ensure National Resistance Movement (NRM) directives were adhered to the latter and advised the supporters to continue boycotting the listed products including Safaricom services.

"We have been oppressed for too long. We have been neglected for too long, we have been ignored for too long, it is time to rise up and defend our dignity, even if it means secession it will be. And let me tell them for free that they haven’t seen NRM yet, " said Governor Anyang' Nyong’o.

The governor was speaking yesterday at Kombewa village when he joined family and friends of Titus Okul who was shot dead by anti-riot police in Seme constituency during the IEBC demonstration.

Other NASA leaders who were present were the area MP James Nyikal, local MCA's, a delegation from the county government and Maseno University fraternity whose the deceased was their student.
