The absence of Kisumu Senator Prof Anyang' Nyong'o in the country has led to the postponement of a planned meeting between Raila Odinga and Kisumu county leaders today.
The meeting was to be chaired by Odinga at the Kisumu County Assembly to discuss matters pertaining to the management of the county.
East Seme Ward representative Aggrey Ogosi said the meeting was called off and rescheduled for next weekend.
Ogosi said the cancellation and subsequent postponement was as a result of the absence of the county Senator.
He said it was not in order to convene a county meeting while the county Senator is a way.
“The meeting cannot go on when then County Senator is a way so the meeting had to be postponed to a later day,” he said.
He reported that Prof. Nyong’o is a way in US where he is leading some lectures in top universities and is expected to arrive before the coming weekend.
Ogosi however said he was not aware of the agenda meeting noting that Raila was the convener of the meeting and was to brief them on the agenda.
There has been infighting in Kisumu County Government and the ODM party leader felt to step in and bring to an end the constant wrangling mostly pitting the county executive and the county assembly.
