However, Kisumu County Executive Committee Member (CeC) in-charge of Education, Information Communication and Technology,  and Human Resource Development Dr. John Obiero says that the era has has brought about fraudulent advertises who have infiltrated the sector.

According to Dr Obiero, the aim of the fraudsters is to swindle money from unsuspecting youth who are desperately seeking for employment opportunities.

The CeC urged the youth to be cautious when enrolling for online jobs adding that extra-carefulness needs to be employed when a job advertised has unreasonable lucrative payments.

Dr. Obiero further noted that the youth need to steer clear from sites that tell their clients to refer more visitors to their site before they can withdraw the money.

"This is a ploy to woo traffic on their sites so as to attract advertisers, most of them never pay the youthful people who work for them,"Obiero explained.

To avert being duped by the individuals, Dr Obiero said that anyone seeking online employment should seek advise from ICT officers adding that the over 10,000 youth who were trained in the Ajira program can also be of help as they were equipped with such skills.

Subsequently, he admonished players in the ICT sector and especially the government to offload some of their jobs on the cyber space so that local citizens can benefit from them. This according to him will help reduce the level of unemployment and  also solve the problem of fraudulent online jobs.
