Kisumu Governor Prof Peter Anyang' Nyong'o on Tuesday presided over the county edition of the 53rd Labour Day celebration at the Freedom Square (Kenyatta Sports Ground).

At the colorful function attended by top county Labour movement officials, the Governor outlined his vision in partnership with workers of the county.

He made an undertaking to ensure that his administration will soon come up with a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with all the county workers.

"My government will be at the forefront of respecting the workers' rights by following the laid down Labour laws", he said.

He assured the public that his government has no space for corruption, and that is why he invited the office Auditor General to come and audit the systems in the government, and give a report which will be implemented in totality.

The Governor was flanked by his Deputy Dr. Mathew Owili, a host of CECs and members of the County Assembly led by their Leader of Majority Hon. Kenneth Onyango.

Labour Day was celebrated countrywide with the Cabinet Secretary in charge of the docket Ukur Yattani leading the celebrations in Nairobi.

Opposition Leader Raila Odinga, a host of government officials, and top labor movement leaders graced the Nairobi event.
