Kisumu Deputy Governor Ochieng' Owili on Monday started his tour to 35 wards in the county, to hear from area residents what they need to be done in their wards by Governor Anyang' Nyongo's administration.
Owili said that North Nyakach will be the first beneficiary of the main projects the county is putting in place under the leadership of Anyang' Nyong'o
"More needs to be done with the best approach being to forge a partnership between the county government and the Non-governmental Organizations under MOU to ensure our objectives are met," Owilu said.
He said the county needs to partner in equipping the Kowire borehole with pipeline networks installed, capacity building for water management comittee, drilling of more boreholes and installation of water meters for various water systems.
"The county government will also sponsor fifty students per ward to enrol in local polytechnics in the next five years ," Owili added.
During their first stop on Monday, Alice Moraa, the County Executive Committee Member (CeC) in-charge of Business, Energy and Industry Department disclosed that her docket has instructed a team of technicians to repair broken down security lights at the Katito market.
“The lights will be functional by evening to ensure that traders can still make sales in evening. This will also boost security and will see the market compete against other markets like Sondu and Ahero markets,” stated Moraa.
