Governor Peter Anyang' Nyong'o has a plan that if implemented will see the congestion that has characterised Kisumu roads eased.
The professor is planning to adopt a mass transit system for Kisumu County.
This was revealed during an event held at the Premium Hotel with the governor saying that he was engaging professionals on the matter.
He assured locals that the plan would be a reality as feasibility studies were already being undertaken by professionals.
''I had a meeting in Nairobi with transport professionals last week and we discussed the matter. This is a long-term solution to the traffic congestion.'' He said according to the Daily Nation.
Nyong'o expressed fears that there would be opposition to the project but vowed to press on as it would benefit the county immensely.
