Aspiring Kiambu governor Dr James Nyoro has warned youths against being used by politicians to disrupt peace.
The aspirant instead wants young people across the country to champion for peace ahead of the August 8 elections.
Nyoro observes that youths often fall prey to selfish politicians who are out to fulfil their selfish interests during electioneering period.
“Our young people should remain peaceful and keep off politicians who instigate and propagate violent acts,” he said on Thursday.
He at the same time asked politicians to engage in issue based politics instead of smear campaigns,
Nyoro claimed that some politicians are using propaganda to campaign against their opponents.
“It is important for us (politicians) to engage in issued based campaigns and not propaganda,” he added when he addressed journalists at Kiambu Town on Thursday.
He has exuded confidence of being elected as next Kiambu governor. The aspirant said that his bid for Kiambu top seat is real and not a joke.
“Let those who are questioning my bid know that I am serious in unseating Governor William Kabogo in August,” he said.
Nyoro who is eyeing to contest on a Jubilee Party (ticket) said that he will soon unveil his development manifesto and agenda.
Nyoro alongside real estate tycoon David Gakuyo, Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu and business woman Njoki Gathendu are seeking to unseat the incumbent, William Kabogo.
The aspirants are eyeing a JP ticket in the primaries set for next month.
