The songstress is the only artist from Kenya and the entire East African region who has been invited to the event.

With only a few months after she exchanged vows with her Danish fiancé Henning Nielsen in a traditional wedding that left Kenyans talking, Nyota Ndogo is going places.

The event, which is scheduled for September 8 in Copenhagen, Denmark, is one of Europe’s most popular and biggest music festivals.

It will be attended by artists from all over the globe.

Speaking about the invitation, the Subira Yangu hit maker could not hide her joy.

In an exclusive interview with Word Is, Nyota Ndogo said that she was humbled.

"This is an indication that Kenyan music and African music in general, is getting international recognition day by day,” she said.

The high ranking artist said it was a privilege to be given an opportunity to represent the nation and East Africa at the event.

"It's more than humbling for me to be chosen to fly our flag at the festival," she added.

Nyota Ndogo has touched the hearts of many Kenyans with songs like Watu na Viatu among others.
