Addressing NYS youths in Birongo Primary school Nyaribari Chache constituency in Kisii county, Makokha said that the program is not a political strategy by the government but it was meant to create jobs for the youths.

“This is not political programme and it is not aligned to any political party but we are working with the government of the day in achieving its manifesto by helping jobless youths," said Makokha.

In addition, he advised youths who are already in the system to make sure that they perform their work so that they can be paid.

“This program was initiated by the Government so it can empower our youths hence I advise them to make sure that they always report and perform their duties to be paid their money," he said.

“All of us we are workers of the Government and we can not expect to be paid if we have not worked so we need to work in order to receive our money,” added Makokha.

He also said they are encouraging the youths to do savings so that they can develop the culture of savings.

“Since the program started the youths have been able to save Sh926 million which will help them develop, so we are encouraging them to continue saving,” he said.
