[Photo/.mygov.go.ke]The National Youth Service is in the spotlight yet again following the controversial purchase and delivery of blankets at a cost of 185 million shillings.Investigations into how the tendering process was done are ongoing to establish whether regulations were followed. It has been revealed that a total of 17 companies responded to the price bids and 16 of them recommended for price analysis. Head of supply chain management Stephen Mwenda wrote a memo to the principal secretary in the State Department of public service and youth explaining the purchase. The memo does not include the value and the company that was awarded the contract; an omission that is likely to raise eyebrows.
