Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa has said that claims the lady is his sister are not true arguing that the allegations are works of his opponents out to tarnish his name.

"I want to put the record straight that Wanjiru Ngirita is not my sister. I completely do not know her," the MP said on Saturday during a political talk show on Radio Jambo.

"I can't even pronounce her name. Those who think that such claims will be enough to bring my political star down are daydreaming. Let them continue dreaming," he added.

Ngirita shot to the limelight after claims emerged that the lady received the Sh60 million even though records at NYS indicated that she did not apply for any tender to supply anything to the department.

It is not yet clear how the money was wired to her bank account and withdrawn at ones.

Ngirita is among the NYS scandal suspects who are currently facing prosecution following the loss of taxpayers money. She was arrested in Naivasha on orders from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
