Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has castigated Deputy President William Ruto over his remarks that former Devolution minister Anne Waiguru should carry her own cross in the Sh791 million National Youth Service scandal.
According to Bosire, any scandal touching on any Cabinet Secretary or Principal Secretary is a government responsibility that Ruto cannot run away from.
“The Cabinet operates under the principle of collective responsibility and the move to withdraw money from the Treasury was a result of a resolution made by the Cabinet chaired by the President and his deputy, hence the buck stops with the two leaders,” said Bosire as quoted by the Daily Nation.
The ODM National Treasurer further asked the electorate to vote out Jubilee in the forthcoming elections accusing it of making Kenyans poorer.
“This leadership of Jubilee has impoverished Kenya’s economy and we must be ready to kick it out in the 2017 elections,” he said on Sunday.
On the NYS saga, the MP said Ruto's statement was a clear manifestation of graft in the Jubilee administration.“This is a government thieving from its people and they cannot run away from it. We can only deduce that the theft at NYS and the Health ministry was a government scheme unless they can prove otherwise,” he added. He warned that the 2017 elections were crucial for the country, and thus appealed to Kenyans not take it for granted.
