Senior Principal Magistrate Ms Mutuku issued the warrant following an erroneous sick off that intended to excuse the suspect from plea taking yesterday.

However, the court noticed it was faulty reading dates in the month of July instead of dates in August 2016.

Prosecutor Eddie Kadabe told the court, since the accused had the physical ability to visit hospital, the same availability should be granted to court for plea taking.

She is jointly accused with Josephine Kabura and nine others on money laundering charges.

Although the accused produced an amended version of the sick off day through her lawyer, SPM Mutuku failed to lift the warrant of arrest and ordered for all to appear in court for plea taking on Monday 22nd August.

Prosecutor Mr Kadebe expressed variance and notified the court that a precedent has been set in another anti-corruption matter, directing an admitted suspect to take plea from a hospital bed.

He emphasised before court that the NYS case should take the same direction if accused persons are not able to appear in court.
