Anne Wambere Wanjiku, the woman who pocketed a whopping Sh59 million from the NYS scandal shocked the nation when she confessed that she received the proceeds despite having supplied nothing to the firm.
The suspect who was arrested on Monday by the police for benefiting the millions of shillings fraudulently alongside with her family stirred a public debate on the way she conducted herself during her arrest.
Anne majestically ambled onto the awaiting police vehicle, looking composed and unmoved by what was happening around her.
She also surprisingly applied her pink lipstick unperturbed and maintained her lavish weave.
However, a section of Uasin Gishu residents has reacted to the calmness of the suspect in the midst of such graves situation in the hands of police officers.
And here are sample of their reactions.
Kiprono Chepkwony said, "The confidence that lady has exhibited in front of detective officers over such grave scandal only points the rising level of impunity in this country."
Kibor Kibiwot opined, "The lady knows that her arrest was just a publicity stunt. So why should she panick?"
Kiptoo Aron claimed, "Maybe the lady has not squandered the money alone. So she might be relaying brazen protection from her accomplices which can be the top government officials."
Moses Nyatich said, "There is nothing called prosecution in Kenya. People steal and show such confidence because after all, they know that nothing bad will happen to them."
Joyline Kiprono said, "The lady was courageous. I don't see any problem with having such calmness in the midst of such drama."
