The hearing of a case in which members of Trans Nzoia County Assembly, the Speaker and Assembly Clerk are facing fraud charges, has been set for August 23.
The case was mentioned before Eldoret principal magistrate Margret Wambani, Thursday.
The prosecutor Zachary Omwega, told the court he had not received all documents in relation to the case and applied that the case be adjourned to enable him get the documents.
Lead lawyer representing the MCA's Dennis Magare was not opposed to the application, which now means hearing of the case will begin after the upcoming general elections.
The 39 MCA's, Speaker and Clerk were arrested, February by Ethics and Anti Corruption (EACC) detectives in relations to misuse of Sh3.1 million shillings.
They are accused of irregularly benefiting from Sh47,000 imprest each which they received to enable them travel to Nairobi to receive the body of their colleague.
According to EACC, the body had already left.
