Migori governor Okoth Obado has hinted at sourcing for a running mate from the Kuria Community.
Obado looks to drop his current Deputy Governor Mwita Mahanga, who incidentally hails from the Kuria community.
Speaking on Monday shortly after meeting elders drawn from the community, Obado pledged to constitute an all-inclusive government if he recaptures his seat during the forthcoming general elections, adding that the community stands to benefit a lot from his administration.
“I’ll have something small for each house. One clan will get the deputy governor post and the rest will get a county executive each. Positions of chief officers will also be shared equally,” he noted.
The Kuria community is a minority tribe residing in Migori county. The governor further pledged to have Migori woman representative Dennitah Ghati nominated after she lost the ODM party ticket during the just concluded party primaries.
