Auma Obama, sister to former US president Barrack Obama, was attacked online after she criticised a Kenyan for expressing his displeasure with the country.Auma took issue with Professor George Wajackoya who during a television interview on KTN, on Wednesday, said he was ashamed to be a Kenyan due to the current political happenings in the country."The election amendments have made Kenya a laughing stock internationally, I am ashamed to be a citizen," said Wajackoya. In a post on twitter, Obama's sister hit out at at the professor for feeling ashamed noting that Kenya would not have been in the mess it is in right now if people strived to be more than their tribe."How dare you be ashamed to be Kenyan! If we would strive to BE MORE KENYAN and not LUO, KIKUYU, KAMBA ETC, we would not be in this mess!!!" wrote Obama.A twitter user who shared the same opinion with Wajackoya told Auma that she might be having a problem if she is not feeling ashamed."If you aren't ashamed then you have a problem, perhaps you have enough to eat and merry," @frankjakolando told Auma.Another user, @arthurkadima, noted, "No man can be a patriot on an empty stomach. There’s a lot unfairness in this country u can’t force people to love it.Auma responded, "It is about unifying our nation not dividing it. If we fight no one eats or is merry."@odanga23 said,"Your brother @BarackObama is cause all that we as Luo community are facing now.He endorsed impunity, now his father's people being massacred."@Mwafreeka, wrote, "You do know a 6 month old Kid was killed, a 9 year old shot, University students clobbered etc. This is not US and we have no 2nd Amendment."Obama however insisted that if you hate your country then you should change it."No appeal. Just fact. You hate your country? Change it! Cos there is nowhere else to go! And fighting each other won't gain you that space!," she stated.
