According to the sub county deputy police commander John Kabusia, accident cases involving bodaboda operators are high.

He attributed the high accidents to ignorance and failure by the operators to obey rules.

The deputy commander warned that operators found flouting traffic rules will be dealt with accordingly.

“Bodaboda and tuk tuk operators must obey the traffic rules, they are not an exception and we are going to deal with flouters,” he warned.

The commander said a programme to sensitise operators on road safety would be launched soon.

He said operators need to understand all roads regulations to avert more accidents.

Meanwhile, the commander has asked operators to team up with the police in fight against crime. He said they will welcome ideas and strategies on how to combat crime.

The commander also urged operators to be wary of the people they carry on bikes since most of them turn to be criminals.
