Obura had joined a handful of his supporters at Kondole where he faced hostility by youths who associated him with Jubilee Party.

The youthful MP however, proceeded to Kibuye market where he faced similar rejection before cutting short his campaign.

"He ignored jeers and proceeded to Kondele where he was pelted with stones that broke his rear window," a witness told the Star.

"He had to change routes several times and was eventually forced to cancel several other stop overs," added the witness.

Obura, a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta, had sometimes back promised to work with Jubilee government to spur development in the area perceived to be opposition stronghold.

He is facing a stiff challenge in ODM primaries from former TNA Secretary General Onyango Oloo who joined the party recently.
