Obure underscored the need for the bursary committees to make public the names of children who have benefitted from the bursaries for public scrutiny to avoid speculations on the administration and distribution of the funds among members of the public.

Speaking at Nyamasankwa village, Giasaiga sub-location of Bobasi Chache Ward in Sameta sub-county during a burial ceremony, the senator challenged the bursary committees to pin lists of bursary beneficiaries at the chiefs' offices for members of the public to access such public information conveniently.

“I am challenging ward bursary committee officials in all the 45 wards in this county to ensure the bursaries are distributed fairly and given to the deserving children to continue and complete their education without interruption,” stated Obure

Obure encouraged local residents to apply for the ward bursaries to facilitate them pay school fees for their children, instead of keeping them at home for lack of school fees.

He reminded members of the public that they should hold bursary committees accountable on the administration and distribution of the ward bursaries, since the funds were out of public funds collected as taxes from the citizens.
