Kisii County Senator Mr Christopher Obure has promised to ensure Ogembo level Four Hospital is refurbished and supplied with enough medical resources.

He said this will enable it deliver quality services to the patients who are admitted in the facility. Obure also appealed for more health worker to be employed in the facility.

Speaking on Sunday at the hospital, the senator regretted that the hospital has been lagging behind in terms of upgrade yet it is the second after The Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Obure noted that the hospital should be almost at the same level with Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital in terms of equipment and medical resources supply.

Obure appealed to the county and the national governments to look into the matter and make sure the hospital is fully equipped with medicine and some of the structures which are getting old renovated. He noted that some of the facilities that need renovation include the dining chamber and the kitchen.

“This facility needs a lot of renovation and the national government through the ministry of health should treat this matter seriously,” the senator said.

He vowed to ensure there is enough working personnel posted to the facility since it is understaffed. He said the current condition may cause a serious threat to the patients who visit the facility since the workers are not enough to handle emergency cases.
