Senator Chris Obure has denied having hand in disruption of Kisii Governor James Ongwae’s rallies across the county.
On Wednesday, Ongwae had his speech interrupted at Ekona and Kenyenya regions with angry youths chanting pro-Obure’s slogans.
And the former ODM Chairman Kisii County says Ongwae’s miseries are a result of poor service delivery and maladministration.
“I would have no reason to hire someone to boo him. He is my friend and I think our people were too generous to tell him to face that he has underperformed,” Obure told the reporter over phone on Thursday.
He added: “I have been in political field for a while and I am ready to face him in elections. I can’t use unjust means to deal with him.”
Obure ditched the Orange party for Jubilee Party and is set to challenge Ongwae in August polls.
However, he has to battle with Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, who has also expressed interest for governorship on a Jubilee ticket.
