He regretted backing the Orange Democratic Movement party only to reap rejection.

“I literally harvested nothing and it got me thinking what to do. I was torn between being in the right side of opposition and history. Today, am in Jubilee because I want development for my people,” the former Bobasi MP told the reporter on phone.

Obure said Gusii community was eager to back Jubilee government given its track record in the region.

The Kisii Senator has announced candidature for Kisii County governorship on a Jubilee ticket would however battle for the ticket with Kisii deputy governor Joash Maangi.

Maangi, who alongside Obure moved from ODM, made an about-turn Sunday last week and also declared his ambition for the seat.

Obure, on his part, slammed the current Kisii County leadership saying it has achieved little for the residents.

He also said the youth across the region were living below their potential because corruption in the devolved unit.
