Kisii Senator Chris Obure and Deputy Governor Joash Maangi’s relationship has hit a new low after the dissolution of the Ford People party, a source has confirmed.
Mr Obure is believed to have been warming to run for the gubernatorial seat on a Ford People ticket but little did he know about its merger with Jubilee.
On Thursday, the source confirmed the new row and said Mr Obure could bow out of Omogusii unity due to alleged deceit.
“The senator is particularly unhappy with Maangi because he is the one who brokered the deal, he claims that he was left out in darkness since his aim was to run to Ford People,” said the source.
“He is calculating his next move and what I surely know; he won’t join Jubilee party because of technicalities. The maangi team did not consult him,” added the source.
Obure, however, declined to comment on the emerging allegations but insisted that he was still in office and said he would tell people about his political future at the right time.
“I don’t know where all these issues are emerging from. I am serving my people and when the right time comes, I will let people know about my plans,” he said.
Until publishing of this story, Deputy Governor Joash Maangi could neither answer calls nor text on the issue.
