The battle for County secretary seat in Kisii county is likely to be hot as a section for leaders who have challenged the leadership of the county Government of Kisii to honour the agreement that the seat was to be given to South Mugirango.
Addressing residents on Sunday at Nyagweta SDA during the fund drive in aid of constructing the church, Senator Chris Obure revealed that the seat was deserved for South Mugirango as by the agreement they made before 2013 General election which has not been fulfilled so far.
According to Senator Chris Obure, before 2013 general election together with other leaders they agreed that Bonchari was to be given Women representative seat, Kisii district which comprises both Kitutu Chache South, Nyaribari Masaba and Nyaribari Chache were to take Gubernatorial seat, Bobasi Senatorial seat, Bomachoge to deputy governor and South Mugirango to take County secretary.
“All that we had agreed on was achieved but when it comes to county secretary something went wrong, therefore I call upon residents to ask want went wrong,” said Obure.
Obure noted that when he tried to ask, he was told that during the transitional authority period it was directed that the Johnston Ndege was to take over as the county secretary.
Obure also revealed that when transitional authority completed its work the post was to be advertised but that was not done.
