Kisii Senator Chris Obure has been warned against endorsing any Bobasi parliamentary seat candidate in the forthcoming general elections, instead, give the area electorate a free hand to elect their next MP without his influence.
Area Parliamentary seat aspirant Innocent Obiri has challenged Obure to keep off area parliamentary seat politics and allow all aspirants sell their campaign agenda and policies for the electorate to pick their preferred candidate come 2017.
Speaking on Friday evening at Nyambunwa village of Bassi Chache Ward in the constituency during the burial of three family members from the family of the late Motari Ontobo who lost their lives through a tragic road accident along the Nyamira-Kericho highway, Obiri who has been contesting the seat since 2002 challenged Obure to allow all aspirants to battle out for the seat.
Obiri reminded Obure that being the Senator he should play a fatherly role and leave all candidates in the constituency compete on a level playing field without the senator's influence since all of them were like his political sons and daughters who needed his blessings as future leaders.
"I am challenging Senator Obure to treat all Bobasi parliamentary seat candidates as his political sons and daughters by allowing them to compete fairly for the electorate to pick one of them as their next MP in 2017 without the senator's influence," stated Obiri.
