Nominated MP Oburu Odinga has called on the media and critics to stop associating his political course in the country to his brother Raila Odinga.According to Oburu, he joined politics as early as 1971 and at the time, his brother had not yet made it to politics and so should not be associated to him at all."My political career should not be associated to Raila Odinga just because he is my brother. I joined politics as early as 1971 and at the time Raila had not yet made it to politics," said Onuru.Oburu further said that his biological relationship with Raila has led to negative publicity that has hindered other Odinga family members from joining politics. The legislator believes other Odinga family members fear being criticised for being affiliated to Raila and have since kept off politics."My biological relationship with Raila has led to negative publicity to everything the Odinga family does politically. This has even led to other Odinga family members keeping away though they are interested in politics," added Oburu.Oburu made the remarks in Mombasa, Monday during a press briefing on his EALA nomination by ODM.[Nominated MP Oburu Odinga.
