Nominated MP Oburu Oginga has been accused of soliciting millions of shillings from incumbent ODM governors to help them secure certificates ahead of August.

At least all ODM governors countrywide have secured nominations certificates in the ongoing exercise with only Kisumu’s Jack Ranguma and Taita Taveta John Mruttu succumbing to newcomers.

In a rather underwhelming exercise, Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has accused Mr. Oginga, the eldest brother of ODM leader Raila Odinga of engineering the entire process.

“We cannot hide this anymore because the people of Kenya are tired with this monkey business. All Governors in Nyanza were favoured a part from Ranguma,” said Midiwo.

The ODM Deputy Leader of minority added: “Oburu Oginga has been receiving millions from Nyanza Governors and he influenced the outcome regardless of what people wanted.”

Although he has not responded to the allegations, Oburu was also a casualty of ODM Appeals Board committee in which his alleged victory in Bondo was nullified.

Midiwo, a close ally of Mr. Odinga also lost in his bid for ODM ticket in Gem constituency, a result which he has since contested.
