Police in Migori had to fire severally on air to disperse irate youths who were baying for the blood of nominated MP Oburu Oginga and Homabay Women Representative Gladys Wanga on Monday.

The two were tasked by NASA campaign team to consolidate Luo-Nyanza votes and have been traversing the vast region drumming support for all ODM candidates.

Recently, ODM leader Raila Odinga found himself on the receiving end when he advocated for six-piece voting system, a method that was resisted by a host of independent candidates.

And trouble started when the duo joined Governor Okoth Obado for a series of meetings before angry locals denounced them over discrimination subjected to independent front runners.

They had to seek intervention of police as the youths believed to be supporters of governorship aspirant Ochillo Ayacko hurled stones on their convoy.

The ODM party has been dealing with bitter internal wrangles following substandard primaries that led to massive walkout by a host of dismantled party aspirants.

In Migori for instance, Ayacko disputed results in which Obado was declared winner after an epic battle that even led to bloodshed.
